When you visit your GP Practice, you’re supported by a whole team of healthcare professionals who work together to help you stay well and get the right care when you need it.

While many people know about GPs, nurses, and healthcare assistants, there are also other experts who may be involved in your care.

Health Visitors

Health Visitors can offer advice for expectant mothers and small children up to school age. We encourage all parents to bring their children to the practice for immunisations, weighing and childhood checks.

Health Visitors are all trained Nurses who have extra training and qualifications in child health. They are a fantastic source of information about child development and health, parenting strategies, breastfeeding, nutrition and community support. They also offer help with social, emotional and environmental issues that affect families.
